Worship
Worship
Every member of our school community is welcome to be a part of our invitational and inclusive collective worship - at St Mary's we value this time of calm and reflection. Worship is lead by the Clergy, Staff and Pupils and is experienced in many forms from singing to prayer stations.
Throughout the year collective worship explores and celebrates world faiths and festivals. As a result, our pupils talk about similarities and differences between the prayer life of the Christian, Buddhist and Muslim faiths. They can reflect on the impact and significance of the Jewish faith on Christianity bringing an understanding of all faiths as being equally important in our World.
"Collective worship clearly expresses the Christian vision and is an integral part of the day. Staff and pupils are heavily involved in the planning, delivery and evaluation of worship. This allows spiritual growth and gives pupils regular encounters with the teachings of Jesus and the Bible. Pupils confidently lead prayer." SIAMS March 23
