Uniform Information for Parents

At St Mary’s, our school uniform reflects who we are: one family, rooted in our Christian values of respect, equality and belonging. We want every child to feel proud, comfortable and ready to learn.

Our uniform is designed to be:

  • Practical and good value for money

  • Inclusive and accessible

  • Easy to source from supermarkets or our supplier (logo items are optional)

  • Supportive of children’s wellbeing, including SEND and sensory needs

Below is a simple overview of what children wear at St Mary’s. Full details are in the Uniform Policy, and photos on this page show each item clearly.

Everyday School Uniform

  • Grey pinafore, skirt, shorts or tailored trousers

  • Optional blue gingham dress/ shorts in summer

  • Navy sweatshirt or cardigan (with or without logo)

  • Light blue polo shirt or blouse

  • White, grey or blue socks / grey, blue or black tights

  • Black shoes or black ankle boots

Hair & Accessories

  • Plain blue or black hairband or small bow

  • Navy headscarf/hijab (if worn for religious reasons)

  • Small stud earrings and a watch only

  • No make‑up or nail varnish

PE Kit

  • Plain white T‑shirt or light blue polo

  • Navy or black shorts/leggings

  • Black pumps or black/white trainers

  • Outdoor kit: plain navy/black tracksuit or fleece

Children come to school in their PE kit on PE days.

Keeping Uniform Affordable

We are committed to keeping costs low.

  • Logo items are optional

  • Supermarket alternatives are welcome

  • Second‑hand uniform events run throughout the year

  • Iron‑on school badges are available for families who want them
